Staffing Director

In-Office and Off-Site Event Coverage and Execution Position

The primary responsibility of the Staffing Director is the recruiting, hiring, training, and scheduling of A Fare Extraordinaire’s Event Service Staff Team for more than 550+ off-premise events annually. This position also handles HR related tasks such as logging hours worked, payroll, enforcing company policies and procedures and spearheading disciplinary action when necessary, as well placing a strong focus on cultivating relationships with team members, and building a positive and productive company culture. The best candidate for this position is a seasoned event professional who is passionate about customer service, thrives in a fast-paced work environment, loves engaging with team members, is flexible, detailed, and manages new and recurring responsibilities well.

Job Description

  • Event Manager and Service Staff recruiting, hiring, and training
  • Event Manager and Service Staff scheduling for off-premise events
  • Event Manager and Service Staff scheduling for The Revaire events
  • Service Staff scheduling for in-house tastings and meetings
  • Event detail communication to Event Managers and Service Staff
  • Schedule and lead quarterly service trainings
  • Schedule and lead monthly event manager meetings
  • Consistently update and revise service training materials
  • Consistently update and revise department policies and procedures
  • Enter event hours and run bi-monthly payroll
  • Assist Sales Team with Service Staff estimates for proposals
  • Department Profit & Loss tracking and review with Management Team
  • Manager of staff relations and culture
  • Human Resources and discipline contact for Event Managers and Service Staff
  • Establish monthly department goals and action plans to meet the goals
  • Spot industry trends
  • Uniform ordering, cleaning, and packing for events
  • Consistently update and revise Service Staff phone and email lists
  • Tracking Staff TABC and Serve Safe permits and expiration dates
  • Schedule and plan bi-annual Town Hall Meeting
  • Annual Staff compensation and performance reviews
  • Attend weekly production meetings
  • Attend weekly department meetings with Management Team
  • Attend events in Staffing support role
  • Be on call for event days

 

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 3-year experience in Catering, Hospitality, and/or Service Industry
  • Experience in Microsoft Office
  • Driven, creative, personable, and passionate about customer service and the event industry
  • Natural leader
  • Culture-orientated
  • Self-directed in a team environment
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
  • Collaborative worker who trusts the expertise of fellow departments

Description of Package

  • Salary position plus company offered benefits
  • Pay to be determined based on candidate qualifications
  • Office Hours: 9:00am-5:30pm Monday-Friday
  • Event hours: evening and weekend hours required dependent on event calendar
  • Training: 3 Month Transition Period by current Staffing Director
  • Reviews: 3 Month Employee Introductory Period Review plus Annual Performance/Compensation Review
