Senior Event Designer

A Fare Extraordinaire is looking for an efficient multi‐tasker, out-of-the-box thinker, and experienced leader to join our team! The Senior Event Designer will collaborate with our Executive Sales Producer on large-scale and intricate events. They will help to develop, create, and present the design and functionality of the event to the Client through sourcing vendors, using Adobe Suite programs, and managing the budget as well as executing the event day-of!

POSITION PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop creative and unique event designs utilizing vendor equipment and product to procure an impressive and bespoke look for each client’s event
  • Manage event budgets without sacrificing the event’s identity or integrity
  • Accountable for the quality of all deliverables and performance throughout the installation and duration of the event
  • Be fully knowledgeable of Houston area venues, specs, loading dock, and security procedures
  • Place vendor orders and ensure responsive turnaround
  • Receive, check, and send confirmed vendor tickets to Sales Producer
  • Reconfirm all event orders prior to event date
  • Attend site visits with vendors and the AFE team
  • Participate in event execution and installation as well as facilitate vendors’ load in and load out
  • Communicate project status, timelines, and delivery information to clients and internal teams
  • Ensure all design information is listed and accurate in our proposal software system, Caterease
  • Work within set deadlines
  • Maintain organized files per event
  • Maintain an organized daily, weekly, and monthly to‐do list with the ability to reprioritize tasks and deadlines quickly and appropriately
  • Stay current in fashion and design trends, technology, fabrication techniques, design elements, as well as vendor products
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure quality, workability, and that the elements meet the core objectives of the event
  • Collaborate with co-workers in all AFE departments to foster a teamwork atmosphere and innovation
  • Design of customizable items, day-of-event items, and paper goods such as menu signage
  • Diagram design to effectively scope the venue appropriate for the event and the event production
  • Billing, invoicing, and paying all vendors in a timely and accurate manner via Quickbooks
  • Act as a department leader and representative for the Event Design Team
  • Provide guidance, support, and expertise to other Event Designers
  • Continue to train and improve the knowledge base of the other Event Designers
  • Maintain a pulse on all event design projects to ensure standards are being met across the team
  • Manage and communicate directly with team on behavioral and performance-based feedback
  • Manage and approve vacation of team
  • Provide The Revaire Sales Team with creative support
  • Work closely with Marketing to ensure all graphic design materials are up to brand standards

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • A minimum of 3 years in the event industry or design-related industry
  • Client relations experience
  • Effective presentation skills
  • A minimum of 2 years in management
  • Intermediate experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Working relationship with Houston vendors is preferred
  • Event budget management


OFFICE HOURS AND EVENT HOURS

  • Weekly office business hours: Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Event installation and event coverage hours to be determined and based on AFE event calendar and the event calendar of the paired AFE Sales Producer
  • Reviews: 3 Month Employee Introductory Period Review plus Annual Performance Review
